About This Project
This Ridgewood colonial had a chopped-up first floor typical of 1970s construction. The homeowners wanted an open, modern layout that would serve their busy family. AJH Construction removed two load-bearing walls (installing engineered beams), reconfigured the kitchen to face the backyard, and created a seamless flow from kitchen to dining to living area with new hardwood throughout.
Project Highlights
- Two load-bearing walls removed with engineered beam installation
- Custom white oak cabinetry with integrated appliances
- 10-foot island with quartzite waterfall top
- Sliding glass doors to rear patio
- New hardwood flooring throughout first floor
- Recessed lighting and under-cabinet LED system
